The New York Jewish Community Deaf Interpreting Fund
HOW THE FUND WORKS:
Once a Jewish organization in the NY Metro area has a request from someone Deaf, go to www.jdrc.org and download the request form. Complete Form A and use the submit button to send it to [email protected]. It is recommended that you try to do this at least two weeks prior to the event. This UJA-Federation of NY fund will reimburse approved programs 75% of the cost of interpreting, not to exceed $200 per event. Each organization can receive a maximum of $800 in a fiscal calendar year. Partial reimbursements will be made subsequent to the event, after Form B is completed. |
WHO HIRES AND IDENTIFIES THE INTERPRETER?
Each Jewish organization is responsible for hiring and paying the ASL interpreters who work at their events. ADVERTISING/ADVICE/QUESTIONS? JDRC is a non-profit advocacy organization, which can help you advertise your event in the Jewish Deaf community, offer advice, and answer your questions. They are the administrators of this grant. Contact www.jdrc.org or call 917-705-8941. |
A check will be sent to your organization from FJC. The check should arrive in 4 to 6 weeks.
